i really love these i found on ebay...but i just don't know if i can work it into my wardrobe. the print is really interesting though.

the big decision

recently, i decided to grow my bangs out...like last night. i've had them for a while, so i have never really thought about the general shape of my eyebrows. also, one of my eyebrows has a weird cowlick in it, but that is neither here nor there.

now i'm thinking about having them waxed, but i want to keep them full. i'm terrified that if i go to my beauty parlor this *below* will happen.

pencil thin mustaches may be adorably retro *maybe not*...but i can't do pencil thin eyebrows.

i found some pictures of eyebrows that i like and they really don't look all that different from mine. just a little more refined.

is this something i should attempt at home? *!?!* some encouragement one way or the other would be greatly appreciated.

a little reward

i won the dress!!! i have really been looking for a full skirted floral dress for the spring...and incidentally have been trying to work more purple into my wardrobe. the tuxedo ruffle on this dress really makes it stand out from other dresses with this shape. and i love the boat neckline. perfection!

the sweet, delicate detailing on these dresses is gorgeous. the little bit of skin that pokes out from underneath the crocheting is terribly sexy!

okay so i kind of cheated on this one. the purple dress is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. ever. i dug up the orange dress just so this category could have two pictures. *lame* but the orange dress is nice too.

i posted about maxi dresses a couple of weeks ago and listed my favorites on ebay at the time. i did my weekly search for maxi dresses just a few days ago and found that one of the dresses i wanted hadn't sold and was relisted. so i bid on it and i won!!! *i love the back.*

looking for new sneakers

my old vans have a hole in the toe...and they are looking more grey and black than white and black. i've decided i definitely want a pair of converse high tops...now just to decide which ones. below are my favorites...all from zappos.com.

juice boxes for adults

last night, i went to see the new rolling stones concert movie, shine a light...in imax. i was absolutely overwhelmed the entire time. it is amazing. see it. now. with that being said, i can move on.

we decided it would be a good idea to sneak some booze into the theatre...and it was *it always is!* my friend brandi was searching for some cold champagne in a can that we could drink during the mick jagger/buddy guy duet champagne and reefer. we never found any that was cold, but we picked some up anyway.
i have never heard of Sofia, this wonderous gift from the gods *and francis ford coppola* but it is my new favorite...specifically because i am a sucker for smart design. the precious pink can comes with a flexy straw attached at the side, a la capri sun. it is such a great treat and would be wonderful for picnics...or life in general.

between my new found love of both sofia and charlie watts, i was one happy girl.

keeping in the vein of childhood inspiration, i am loving everything about alice...her hair ribbon...the poof of her sleeves...the fluff of her skirt. *where can i get a white apron?*

my favorite feature on my new laptop *i have never worked on a mac before* is that when i move my mouse into one corner all the windows i have open pop up...you know what i'm talking about.

anyway, today i got an email with lots of images attached. i opened them all and i found them so funny i kept them open. now every time i change windows i chuckle. *find aforementioned images below.*

today i took wardrobe inspiration from the unlikely inspirational team of bert and ernie from sesame street.
okay maybe not completely unlikely. i guess they could give great advice on learning to count, conquering a fear of the darkness, and rubber duckies...just unlikely in the fashion inspiration sense. but man...i can't get enough of bright, bold stripes.

random blog tuesday

so my new job inspired me to create another "blogging day of the week." the first, you may remember, is food-centric fridays. i haven't exactly kept to that...but that is neither here nor there.

the new day theme is based on one of the values that my office subscribes to - freshness. we define freshness as...the habit of always trying new things or doing things you do every day in a new way and being comfortable with the unpredictable. *if you are interested, you can find our other values here.*

also, yesterday, i received a comment on this blog from one of food bloggers i posted about. she was entertained by my blog and appreciated being drawn out of the world of food blogs. awesome!

so...today's random blog is "Outras Cadeiras" which i have from a reliable source means "other chairs" in Portuguese. it is a photo blog that i found to be pretty interesting. i hope you get a chance to check it out and throw a little freshness into your day.

i have a very large collection of vintage neckties that i have collected since i was in college. the original concept was to use them as fabric for crafting, which i have some, but as the pile grew i have taken to wearing them occasionally. right now i am totally feeling annie hall.
